Product Description

Overshots are an integral part of the Q Wireline system. Once the inner-tube is full of core, the overshot is lowered (or pumped-in for an inclined-hole) to the bottom of the hole.

The Overshot is dropped or pushed into the drill string to bring back the inner-tube assembly by means of wireline cable hoist. Its heavy-duty lifting dogs grab a secure hold at the top of the inner-tube assembly.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the primary function of an Overshot in wireline drilling?
The overshot is used to retrieve the inner-tube assembly from the bottom of the drill string once it is filled with core samples, utilizing a wireline cable hoist.
How does the overshot connect to the inner-tube?
It features heavy-duty lifting dogs that securely grab the spearhead point at the top of the inner-tube assembly for safe retrieval.
Can these overshots be used in horizontal or inclined holes?
Yes, for inclined or horizontal holes, the overshot can be pumped into the drill string instead of relying on gravity.
What size variations are available for the Overshot Assembly?
We provide a full range of specifications including BO(BQ), NO(NQ), HO(HQ), and PO(PQ) series, including their "U" type variations.
Is the Overshot compatible with the Q Wireline system?
Absolutely, the overshot assemblies are specifically designed as integral components of the standard Q Wireline system.
What ensures the safety of the load during retrieval?
The heavy-duty design of the lifting dogs ensures a high-strength mechanical lock, preventing accidental release of the inner-tube during hoisting.
